Match Report: PNE Women 6 Chorley Women FC Development 1

The goals didn't stop for Preston North End Women as they recorded an emphatic 6-1 victory over Chorley Women FC Development in the North West Womens Regional League, Division One North.

Braces from Liv Askam and Madison Hadley, a free-kick from Katie Woodhead and an own goal ensured a convincing three points for the Lilywhites.

North End started the game well and dominated large periods of possession, with chances early on for Hadley, Askam and Woodhead, who were all unable to slot the ball home.

The home team broke the deadlock when Askam headed in Wilson's free-kick delivery, before Woodhead doubled PNE's lead early in the second half with a solo free-kick effort.

Chorley responded with a goal of their own, however, Hadley responded quickly to score her first of the game, followed up by Askam's second of the afternoon.

PNE continued to search for more goals and the fifth came through Hadley, who produced a fantastic strike, making the scoreline 5-1.

Woodhead's corner resulted in an own goal after the ball came off a Chorley defender's head, as North End finished comfortable 6-1 winners.

After the game, Co-Manager David Rawcliffe said: “Once we got the opening goal, that settled us a bit.

“In the second half we changed formation to get more upfront, and as a result of this, it was a good result.

"We'll take all three points into the next one.”
