Women’s Super League title race could be decided when Chelsea host Manchester United this weekend

It could be the first time ever that Manchester United get there hands on the WSL title after finding themselves one point clear of the champions Chelsea.

Winning on Sunday would definitely help the reds chances after only coming into the Women’s Super League five years ago.

Getting the three points won’t necessarily be easy as Chelsea have won the last five times these teams have met and drawn once.

Chelsea seem to be on scoring form at the moment after across eight games since 2018, 21 goals were scored by the blues which is compared to just seven by the reds.

Marc Skinner (Manchester United manager) has only lost once this season which was to Emma Hayes(Chelsea manager) which was a 3-1 lost at Leigh Sports Village in November.

Skinner said: “We are going to need to be ruthless against Chelsea because you don’t get many chances, so we have to make sure we take them when we create them.

“This game won’t define the title but we have to show we have the mental capacity to go into these games without fear of an opponent.

“When we played them at home, we didn’t maximise our opportunities and potential. That’s what I am going to expect in this game.”

The game takes place at 12:30 at Kingsmeadow.
