Preview: Liverpool v Lincoln City

Liverpool welcome FA Women’s National League Division One Midlands club Lincoln City to Prenton Park this afternoon as the two clubs contest a Vitality Women’s FA Cup fourth round tie.

With The Reds in great form in the FA Women’s Championship, it is going to be hard for Lincoln City to cause a major upset, Matt Beard’s side are pretty much unstoppable at the moment.

Liverpool have lost just two of their 19 matches in all competitions this season and they will be excited to get back out onto the pitch following last weekend’s 4-0 victory at Crystal Palace.

Forward Leanne Kiernan has been in exceptional form for Liverpool this season, she has scored 10 goals in the FA Women’s Championship and is the league’s top goalscorer. She is always dangerous and could be the key to breaking Lincoln City’s resistance.

Lincoln City currently sit in fourth position in the FA Women’s National League Division One Midlands coming into this game. The Imps have already seen off Holwell Sports, Burton Albion and Northampton Town in this season’s Vitality Women’s FA Cup to reach the fourth round. Lincoln City are one of just four fourth tier clubs remaining in this season’s competition. Two players to watch out for are Leah Hardy, a player who has scored 12 goals this season and Jessica Rousseau, who has netted 11 goals.

The Vitality Women’s FA Cup fourth round tie between Liverpool and Lincoln City kicks-off at 2pm.
