Preview : Liverpool v Coventry United

Liverpool will take on Coventry United at Prenton Park this afternoon with an important three points up for grabs for both teams.

Amber Whiteley’s are currently fourth in the FA Women’s Championship table and have won their last two games. They will be hoping for a third victory with the aid of home advantage.

The Reds are 10 points adrift of league leaders Leicester City but could close the gap should The Foxes draw with title rivals Durham at Maiden Castle this afternoon. Liverpool’s opponents Coventry United returned to winning ways in their last game against London City Lionesses, beating The Pride 1-0 at the Butts Park Arena.

Missy Bo Kearns will be looking to impress for The Reds again after being awarded with the club’s Standard Chartered Player of the Month award for the combined months of January and February. Kearns provided an assist for the game’s only goal at Crystal Palace last Sunday.

Liverpool midfielder Ceri Holland has been nominated for FA Women’s Championship Player of the Month for February. Despite only joining the team during the January transfer window, the 23-year-old has made a big impact on the team and will be hoping for another good performance this afternoon.

Defender Hayley Crackle scored from long distance for Coventry United as they saw off London City Lionesses last weekend. The Red and Greens have a keen eye for goal from outside of the box and Liverpool will need to be switched on to that threat.

Liverpool’s FA Women’s Championship fixture against Coventry United is scheduled to kick-off at 2pm with fans able to stream the action live on LFCTV GO, Liverpool’s official YouTube channel or on the official LFC Women Facebook and Twitter accounts.
